What your traineeship will look like is up to you. As a trainee, you will have a front row seat on world-class maritime projects, with a strong focus on sustainability and on your own development. You have the potential to grow into a key position within our company. Our projects are often unique and are full of technical, financial and organizational challenges. Offshore wind farms, ports, dikes, flood defences, infrastructure, sluices and offshore pipelines – Van Oord is always willing to take on and discover new challenges. To support these projects, we also need strong analytical, data driven, commercial, communicational and organizational talent for our business units and staff departments. Your responsibilities
Along with a group of 12 trainees, you will embark on an intense and fascinating year. At our offices in Rotterdam and Gorinchem, you will get to know all departments and areas of Van Oord in double-quick time. We will get you working on one or more of our Dutch / international projects, business units or staff departments for 9 weeks, 3 times during your traineeship. This could mean that you will be away from home during a project period.
In the meantime, you will actively work to build a good network, from the shop floor to the top of the company, starting within your trainee group, manager and business mentor. Naturally, we will provide personal support, courses and training sessions for your personal and professional development. At the end of your traineeship, you will start working in a challenging position at our head office in Rotterdam, Gorinchem or at one of our project locations worldwide. You will have an important role in the future of Van Oord! Sounds good, right?
Job requirements
We are looking for people to reinforce our team who will not simply apply their knowledge, but enrich our staff departments, business units and projects with great thinking. In order to be eligible for the traineeship, you must have an MSc or BSc and not more than 2 years of professional experience. Potential for accelerated development (personal and professional) and experience are more important to us then your field of studies. Equally important to your background are your personal qualities and team spirit. That starts with entrepreneurship, flexibility and strong analytical skills. You always stay focused on the result and you do not get discouraged if things do not always go to plan. If you combine these qualities with an excellent command of the English language (the programme is entirely taught in English) and no more than two years of professional experience, we would love to have you as a participant in our traineeship programme!
