WRI: Mentor program for Talents in Development Sector

Intro

WRI and The Refugee Talent Hub are organizing a mentor program by and for professionals in development sector. Work of WRI is organized around seven global challenges: Food, Forests, Water, Energy, Climate, the Ocean and Cities.

WRI analyzes these issues through the lenses of four Centers of Excellence: Business, Economics, Finance and Governance. About WRI

WRI is a global research organization that works with governments, businesses, multilateral institutions and civil society groups to develop practical solutions that improve people’s lives and protect nature.

About the mentor program

In the mentor program, a development sector professional from WRI will be matched to you for a period of 4 months. During this period, the professional functions as your mentor and coach. He gives you tips and tricks for finding a job in The Netherlands and working at the Dutch labor market and/or the Development Sector in general. The mentor shares his/her professional network as well.

What do we expect from you

  • You have a refugee background

  • You have affinity with development sector

  • You speak Dutch or English

  • You have an open, proactive attitude, are eager to learn and want to share information with your mentor

  • You are motivated to participate, and you make time for the obligated activities (kickoff, check-ins, closing event). In addition, you make time for an (online) appointment with your mentor once a week, or once in two weeks

  • You have a computer (with camera) and internet, this is necessary for the video calls and online activities
