Meet-and-greet for Service Employees

NS is looking for several enthusiastic Service Employees after a successful first pilot!

Start your career at NS and become part of Dutch society by having daily contact with various travelers. This unique program offers you a fantastic opportunity to develop your Dutch language and cultural skills in addition to your social skills. You take the first step on the Dutch labor market and can then grow towards a Service Employee for Complex Questions or within the rest of the NS organization!

About NS

NS is active in the world of public transport. We promote the use of public transport and keep the Netherlands moving. Our travelers are number 1, 2 and 3 in all our activities and we work for them to ensure that their journey from door to door is as pleasant and sustainable as possible. About the department

You work at Amsterdam Central Station or Eindhoven Central Station. You will receive a buddy and extra support from the Newcomers project team. See video here .

You need this

  • You master the Dutch language at level B1 or higher.

  • You can be at the location (Amsterdam or Eindhoven) within 45 minutes of travel time with your own transport.

  • You are willing to work varying shifts, for example two out of three weekends in a full-time employment contract.

  • You are flexible and show understanding, even when travelers are in a bad mood or experience other problems.

  • You maintain an overview, are up-to-date with the latest developments at the station and can find information quickly.

  • You are eager to learn and aware of your own qualities and development points, both professionally and personally and within a team.

This is the offer

  • A starting salary of up to € 2,719.80 gross per month based on 36 hours and a 1-year contract.

  • Very good secondary employment conditions such as a free NS Business Card (2nd class), an excellent pension scheme and opportunities for training and education.

  • It is possible to work between 28 and 36 hours per week.

  • Public transport travel costs will be reimbursed, but please note that only the costs incurred on the day itself for transport from your home to the activity and back will be reimbursed. Please read our travel expenses policy carefully.
