Towards inclusive technology, construction and energy

This week was an important moment with the start of the attack plan for technology, construction and energy.

An important goal of this is to offer more opportunities to professionals with a refugee background, so that they can work in the technology, construction and energy sectors. As there is an increasing demand for talent and the need for diversity in these sectors, this initiative is a promising step towards a more inclusive labor market. Together with network operators and other partners, Refugee Talent Hub is committed to creating more opportunities for newcomers in these important sectors.

Social challenges

Professionals in construction, energy and technology play a crucial role in tackling social issues, such as the energy transition. An estimated 30,000 trained employees will be needed in the coming years to meet this challenge. Currently, approximately 80,000 status holders are ready to go to work. Some of them already have a technical background, while others are open to retraining to find a job in construction, technology and energy.

Colleague Houda Zait: “It is super inspiring to see that employers in technology, construction and energy are willing to step outside the framework of their own organizations. They are putting their heads together to tackle the challenges surrounding the labor shortage and tackle the energy transition together."
