Our story
We work towards a world where the talents of people who have been forced to flee are also seen and valued.
We are Refugee Talent Hub. Since 2016, we have been inspiring and motivating employers to work with newcomers — hands-on and with real expertise. We share our knowledge and experience of what is possible and what works. Together with our corporate partners, we work towards an inclusive workplace and create personal meetings and activities where talent takes centre stage. And through our platform RefugeeWork, we connect employers and job-seeking refugees directly with one another.
Everything we do, we do to contribute to our mission. To bring our dream a little closer.
Our dream is a Netherlands where employers recognize and utilize the talents of refugees, giving them the right opportunities in the job market.
Why we believe in what we do
Between people with a refugee background and (paid) work stand numerous obstacles. These barriers reinforce one another and form a whole that is difficult to break through (also known as the 'canvas ceiling'). They exist at the individual, organisational, and societal level. And it is precisely at these levels that you can also see the benefits when employers and newcomers find each other more effectively:
Employers with a diverse workforce are demonstrably more successful than others. Teams become more innovative through new perspectives, and colleagues learn from one another. This makes organisations more agile and better prepared for the future.
For a newcomer, a job means far more than earning money. Having work also brings structure, social connections, and a sense of being needed and belonging. Research consistently shows that employment contributes greatly to faster integration, self-reliance, and independence.
For society as a whole, having more people working and participating matters: it creates cohesion and strengthens communities. It positively shapes how people see one another. And we all stand to benefit when fewer people need to rely on benefits.
